Biography

Brian lives in Christchurch in Dorset, not at all far from Bournemouth, where he was born, in 1939.  He also spends much of his time in France, where he has a house and studio. He studied at Bournemouth Municipal College of Art and at the Royal College of Art, London. He gained an N.D.D. (Sculpture and Ceramics) in 1961  and became an A.R.C.A. (Sculpture and Drawing) in 1965.

He has taught art in a number of art colleges from the mid 1960's till the present day. His list of awards, prizes and bursaries is considerable and includes a Young Contemporaries Award for Sculpture, a Royal College of Art Travelling Scholarship, a British Council Travel Grant (to Norway), and a Prix de la Chambre de Metiers de la Haute-Garonne, France. His list of exhibitions is even more substantial and includes one-person shows at the Oxford Gallery in Oxford, 'Rituals' Galeries Le Duplex, in Le Havre, Anatol Orient in London and Galerie Ellison-Marshall in Bordeaux. His paintings and other works of art are to be found in a large number of public, commercial and private collections.
